GamerLegion Academy have parted ways with original in-game leader Oliver “leaf” Jackson and coach Oscar “LVN” Levin. In their place, the organisation have brought in Adam “Adam9130” Ahmad as shot caller and former pro player Jesper “tenzki” Plougmann in the coach’s chair.
Adam9130 previously played with the organisation’s main team from July 2020 to April 2021 as IGL under former Vexed coach Ashley “ashhh” Battye. ashhh and Adam9130 joined William “mezii” Merriman at the German organisation. Now, after the disbanding of the former EXO Clan roster, Adam9130 takes on a mentor role to their academy side instead, bringing his years of experience to the young team.
GamerLegion Academy formed last October and was a first foray into leadership for both leaf and LVN. leaf spent much of his career playing under Ryan “dox” Young on the likes of Coalesce and Vexed, with GamerLegion Academy being his first attempt at in-game leadership. In this role he had the guidance of LVN, who was in-game leader for Feenix, EKO and 7AM, but took a shot at coaching when the opportunity arose to join GamerLegion.
LVN built the project from open applications, and notably saw Andreas “aNdu” Maasing promoted to the main team in March. Assistant coach Anton “HJELM1” Hjelm has also left the team.
The squad won United21 Season 13 shortly after aNdu’s promotion, but have struggled to consistently finish strong in tournaments since, with only a handful of scattered HLTV appearances to their name. This means they keep two UK players with Jamie “Tree60” Callan, who signed last month after K10’s roster went their separate ways.
GamerLegion Academy are now:
Filip “darber” Bohm
Rūdolfs “rud” Osmanis
Simon “Goody” Chayka
Jamie “Tree60” Callan
Adam “Adam9130” Ahmad
Jesper “tenzki” Plougmann (coach)
