Reason Gaming return to the UK with Byfield

In contrast to a growing trend of UK organisations departing from their UK teams, Reason Gaming have returned to the shores of UK CS. Their new roster is headed up by former caster and Endpoint AWP’er, Alex “Byfield” Byfield.

Byfield heads up the roster, playing in his first formal team since leaving Spanish squad Kazu’s Store Boys in the middle of 2023. Joining him is a set of UK talents, including Adrian “Cha0s” Zelinski, most recently having played a brief stint with Raptors EC. Freddie “FincHY” Finch, Charlie “CJE” James Everitt and Ben “Rezzed” Bignall-Payne all return to competitive play after a number of years out.

Spaniard Victor “Monsalve” Monsalve, reunites to coach a Byfield team having been with the previously mentioned Kazu’s Store Bois, together winning GameGune 2023, beating out ex-Movistar Rider players.

Reason most recently held a North American roster on their books, who departed after avoiding relegation from ECL last year. Reason is a historic organisation, having been founded in 2003, and has hosted teams from numerous locations across Source, Global Offensive and CS2, and has played in numerous Major tournaments during the former two titles. It has seen the likes of Henry “HenryG” Greer, Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Casper “cadiaN” Møller, Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander and Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács don the Red jersey in its past.

Team captain Byfield revealed their goals in Reason’s announcement, offering the following statement that included their intentions to compete in competitions beyond the UK:

It’s a fantastic feeling wearing the Reason jersey; an origination synonymous with Counterstrike. It’s about time that it returns to its British roots and fights to bring back U.K Counterstrike to the forefront. The immediate goals of the team is to focus on domestic competition leading up to the summer: Epiclan, Insomnia and UK Masters. International events such as Fragadelphia are on our bucket list for later in the year!

Reason will be making their debut in the Tradeit UK Masters, which commences this evening, and already have their first LAN booked in for EPIC.LAN 41, which is set to take place at the end of February in Kettering.

Reason Gaming’s roster is now:
