British rifler Cai “CYPHER” Watson with BC.Game has made the open qualifier run all the way to Dallas. This impressive journey saw BC.Game taking down some formidable opponents in their route to the prestigious Intel Extreme Masters event. This success demonstrates BC.Game taking full advantage of one of the few open qualifiers that are taking place in this first half of the year.

The open qualifier
The awe-inspiring run saw BC.Game see off the likes of Jack “Gizmy” Von Spreckelson’s Monte roster in a close 16-14 early in their campaign. Notably, the British representatives from each of the teams topped their respective scoreboards, with Gizmy dropping a solid 29-19 and CYPHER only managing one kill fewer with 28-19. Unfortunately, the brutality of open qualifiers means that for one Brit to succeed, one must falter, and this close 30-round affair saw Gizmy and Monte eliminated from Dallas’ qualifier.
After a quick 13-0 versus the mix team ‘Showmakerzz’ with Oliwer “bsover” Ekbäck who plays for Swedish team Lilmix, BC.Game came up against their next big name team: Ninjas in Pyjamas. This victory came a lot easier than the one versus CYPHER‘s fellow countryman earlier, with a standout performance from Nemanja “nexa” Isaković BC.Game saw off NIP in a 13-9 affair. Foreshadowing nexa‘s future performances.
At this point BC.Game are 3 games away from the Dallas Closed qualifier. In their last game before reaching the HLTV stage of the close qualifier BC.Game defeated Aurora in a quick 13-5 match. Their next game saw the UNPAID core, now on BC.Game, face off against one of their former teammates in the form of Vladan “VLDN” Radević on Partizan. This match would however prove to not be competitive as Partizan were only able to pick up one round in the whole match, BC.Game strode one step closer to Dallas with a 13-1 victory.
In their final match of the open qualifier BC.Game came up against Zero Tenacity, another team known for making waves in the tier two circuit was comfortably dispatched off by CYPHER and co. Thus, completing their open qualifier run as they made their way to the closed qualifier with a 13-6 victory.
The closed qualifier
Two wins away from IEM Dallas BC.Game would come up against the German side of BIG. This match proved to be their most challenging opponent yet dropping the first map in the best of three. BC.Game showed their desire to remain flawless and reverse swept the series in a 2-1 fashion securing them a qualification match against Astralis.
The first map of the qualification game saw CYPHER and co do battle on Mirage. BC.Game demonstrated why they would pick into the map winning in a 13-9 affair against the star-studded roster. Moving onto Astralis’ pick of Inferno the Danish quintet put up a much stronger performance however it was not enough even if it pushed BC.Game to their limits. The barn burning 19-17 double overtime victory for BC.Game gets them through, undefeated to IEM Dallas.
Despite having attended two LAN events since the Blast.TV Paris Major, neither of these two LANs, RES Regional Champions and MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2024, qualify as a tier one LAN event. This makes IEM Dallas CYPHER‘s first tier one LAN event since the now defunct Into the Breach’s British squad made their historic run to the major semi-finals.
